Nature is a predominant subject in the verse of Robert Frost. In the inscription that Robert Frost proposed for himself, he said that he had an admirer of squabble with the world, his darlings fight is Frosts lovely subject, and all through his verse there are confirmations of this perspective on keeps an eye on presence in the normal world. His demeanor towards Nature is one of outfitted and genial valid and common regard. He perceives and demands the limits which exist between singular man and the powers of Nature. There is practically nothing of the spiritualist in Frost. He doesn't look for in Nature either a feeling of unity with all made things or association with God. There is nothing Platonic in his perspective on life, since it is a hinting of something different. Robert Frost not at all like William Wordsmith sees no plaguing soul in the characteristic unoriginal and coldblooded. In spite of the fact that Nature watches man, she fails to assess him. Robert Frost treats Nature both as a solace and threat. As a pundit says, Frost doesn't define a hypothesis of Nature or of keeps an eye on relationship with Nature. Notwithstanding, it appears that Frost accepts that man should live in congruity with Nature and not conflict with Nature or characteristic procedure. Nature has an extraordinary spot in Frosts verse. The greater part of his sonnets use nature a perception of something in nature and afterward pushes toward an association with some unman circumstance or concern. His treatment of nature is not quite the same as other nature artists: he is neither a visionary nor a polytheist. Intrinsic and Extrinsic Motivation free essay sample

I for one accept that more individuals in this world have outward inspiration, instead of characteristic inspiration. Naturally inspired understudies will undoubtedly prevail at a greatly improved rate than somebody with extraneous inspiration since they are willing and resolved to gain new material. Characteristically propelled understudies go well beyond the genuine subject or movement to increase better understandings of it while outwardly spurred understudies must be paid off with an honor or some likeness thereof. Characteristic inspiration is an inspiration that drives an individual by pleasure in a specific undertaking. It is inspiration that is inside an individual as opposed to relying on the receipt of a prize toward the end. Individuals who are inherently spurred are increasingly inclined to eagerly follow up on an errand rather that vibe strain to carry out a responsibility. State for instance, Sally was given the subject of Melanoma to keep in touch with her science paper on. Rather than just agonizing over accomplishing a passing mark on the paper, she would prefer to ace the point and have a superior comprehension of it. Characteristic inspiration isn't exclusively founded on outside remunerations, for example, money, a prize, or trophy. This kind of otivation just originates from the satisfaction of the errand itself instead of its sentiment being a drag or a task. Individuals who are inherently spurred don't take a gander at getting a passing mark as full fulfillment for any Ken 3 given errand. Rather, they are centered around the full appreciation of the errand. A characteristically roused individual will take care of a math issue since they appreciate the test of getting to the arrangement. Characteristic inspiration is the common bliss for discovering that separate into what is needed, and precisely the amount it is needed. Characteristic inspiration is just being roused by objectives and not having the delight that others experience when they accomplish those objectives. Joy turns out to be limitlessly wanted, anyway objectives are definitely not. Characteristic inspiration is the sort of inspiration to name exercises that feature or propagate a person’s self-idea. Inherently persuaded individuals are normally propelled when they are endeavoring toward individual, significant objectives, which require nonstop degree of trouble or challenge. The intrigue and satisfaction in exercises give them drive and inspiration. A great many people in this world are not inherently persuaded, yet outwardly spurred. â€Å"Individuals vary massively in what makes them happyâ€for some opposition, winning and riches are the best wellsprings of bliss, yet for other people, feeling skillful or mingling might be additionally fulfilling. The fact of the matter is, you can’t state a few inspirations, similar to cash, are intrinsically substandard. † - Steven Reiss, Psychology Professor at Ohio State University Extrinsic inspiration is the presentation of a movement that is trailed by a prize. This sort of inspiration originates from outside of a person. Extraneously persuaded individuals want rewards, for example, cash, passing marks, prizes, or in different cases, trophies. Rivalry is a sort of extraneous inspiration since it supports the individual to win, as opposed to altogether appreciate the action. Individuals with extraneous inspiration Ken 4 continually flourish off of entertainment or satisfaction of an action as opposed to doing it for themselves of their own prosperity. A case of outward inspiration would be, Jennifer runs long distance races once per year. She doesn't do it for the sentiment of achievement or the characteristic high that it gives you, however for the decoration, congrats, consideration, and gesture of congratulations or high five got from others toward the end goal. Her fundamental center is the consideration given and the â€Å"bragging rights. † Extrinsic inspiration drives individuals to do assignments for unmistakable or different kinds of remunerations, as opposed to getting a handle on what the undertaking is extremely about. Another model would be, an understudy is approached to finish a paper for their writing class. The understudy has no drive or inspiration to do as such, however hesitantly finishes the task to dodge discipline or a terrible evaluation. There is no explanation that cash can’t be a compelling help, or that grades can’t rouse understudies in school. It’s every one of the a matter of individual contrasts. Various individuals are roused in various manners. † â₠¬Steven Reiss, Psychology Professor at Ohio State University. I concur with both of Mr. Reiss’ cites. He additionally referenced that inherent inspiration couldn’t be demonstrated. I kind of concur with that announcement too. I will concede, it is ideal to get a passing mark or prize in the wake of accomplishing something that you are not obsessed with doing. Be that as it may, I additionally get the inherent thought processes since it is an incredible inclination to really need to get the hang of something and endeavor to do well in it since it is agreeable as it were. Ken 5 I developed a study from around fifteen unique individuals to check whether they accepted that their inspiration was inborn or extraneous. I likewise solicited the assessors which type from inspiration they accepted that a great many people in this world used. The lion's share, which was eight of the assessors, said that they were characteristically roused. Two of the assessors asserted that they were extraneously inspired. The other five assessors asserted that they were unsure, or picked both natural and outward inspiration. Every one of the fifteen of the assessors said that they accept that most of individuals in this world are extraneously persuaded. Ken 6 References Deckers, Lambert. From 1M to 2M Users 4 Steps to Scale Your Growth

Last year, I wrote a blog post on getting from 0 to 1 million users, a milestone that took us about two years to reach. This week, just one year later, Lucidpress has surpassed 2 million users. Getting here has meant new strategies & techniques for scaling our growth after going through the scrappy early stage of the startup journey. Related: What we learned on the way to 1 million users Figuring out how to scale is a difficult challenge for any startup. In this post, I'll be walking you through 4 steps we've taken at Lucidpress to push on to bigger customers, bigger opportunities and bigger wins. Boosting our sales team Summary: Expanding the Lucidpress sales team helped us reach more customers in enterprise corporations, a key component for our next phase of growth. Lucidpress is a freemium web-based design & layout tool. Our initial growth was fueled by self-serve registrations in small & medium-sized businesses, so we had little to no need for a sales team. After a while, however, we saw how many users from larger organizations were using us and realized we had a great opportunity to move upmarket. Not only that, but after our initial burst of growth, it became harder and harder to keep improving our financial performance. There was a higher dollar amount of income to double each year, and we'd already done all the easy stuff. To continue driving aggressive growth, we needed to start making bigger deals with business customers. To land those bigger accounts, we needed a strong sales team. Beefing up our sales team has marked the next major phase of growth for Lucidpress, and the same can be said of other SaaS startups. New opportunities in the enterprise space Summary: New use cases in the enterprise space have prompted us to develop new features, with the end result being a more powerful, dynamic product. The shift from self-serve to enterprise is a fluid time for the product. You're suddenly exposed to use cases and feature requests that never would have come up with self-serve customers, simply because the needs are so different. As soon as we put our product into larger companies, requests began pouring in for security features, distributed documents for scale, and features to keep documents on-brand as they're passed around a team. Advanced template locking, our newest feature, is a direct result of that feedback from business customers. Template locking helps companies ensure all marketing & sales materials created across the organization remain on-brand. What are locked objects in Lucidpress? Advanced template locking has paved the way for a number of corporations to adopt our product when they may have not done so otherwise. The number of deals the sales team can close relies, to some extent, on how well the product team is able to build the features that enterprise companies need. It's a really fun time for us because the horizon is so much bigger. It's kind of like building a product all over again. That's what keeps good product managers and product teams coming to work every day—being excited about understanding new sets of customer problems and trying to figure out how you're going to solve them with elegant design, empathy and great products. Using cutting-edge technology Summary: Key to growth is keeping the team motivated with challenging, interesting projects, Also, using cutting-edge technology ensures our customers have the best experience possible. Having new problems to solve is a welcome challenge for us at Lucidpress, and as a team that produces an online design tool, we're committed to pushing the boundaries of what's possible on the web. At Lucid Software, our core purpose is to solve hard problems in technology together with exceptional people, and there have been a lot of projects where there may have been a technically easier, less boundary-pushing solution, but that wasn't going to be fun or interesting, so we chose the route that pushed us. From a product management perspective, it's really important to keep the team happy, engaged and interested, and using cutting-edge technology is a great way to do that. A passionate, invested team is crucial to continued growth. A few happy members of the Lucidpress team Most importantly, as champions of our customers, technology allows us to deliver exceptional experiences. At Lucidpress, it's on all of us to be on the lookout for the latest & greatest technologies and to think critically about how we can leverage them to our customers' benefit. Learning from our mistakes Summary: One costly mistake helped us develop a new technique that will help us catch mistakes before they happen. Pushing boundaries and building new experiences will naturally result in mistakes, and we've made our share. But the lessons learned from mistakes are some of our most valuable tools as we refine our processes and optimize for growth. Specifically, a development story we took on around our onboarding process resulted in a costly mistake, but also some lessons & discoveries that will be hugely valuable moving forward. A key focus at Lucidpress is increasing user engagement from the first moment someone spends in the product, the goal being to provide value to a user as soon as possible. I spent several days watching user sessions on Inspectlet and noticed there were a set of five actions that were typical of customers who had a successful first experience. Knowing this, we decided to build an onboarding experience with tool tips that would guide new users to those actions. We planned it and estimated it at 8 points, meaning roughly eight full days of work for one person. It turned out to be 3x as much work as we estimated—and on top of that, it failed. A mockup from the ill-fated onboarding flow Our biggest mistake was that we waited until the very end to user-test it. We know it's important to test early, but with this particular feature, we thought we had to build the whole thing before we could get meaningful feedback—which seemed right at the time, but in hindsight was totally wrong. The first time we did user testing with a workable prototype, it became obvious within seconds that the way we thought someone would interact was completely different from what actually happened. That was just on the first tool tip, and we had built six. What did we learn? Use Codepen to get early feedback. In hindsight, we should have used a tool like Codepen to build an interactive prototype to test out a single tool tip. Most people didn't even notice the first tool tip, and we didn't need working code to see that. We could have just showed them a still image and asked them to click on it, and we would have learned right away that it wasn't working. Conduct a research spike before fully committing. Now, when we have stories over 5 points, we conduct what we call a "spike" before we start building. A spike is a preliminary investigation conducted by one developer. The developer takes a couple points to look into a few different ways to build a new feature to determine what will and will not work. Spikes keep us from spending a ton of time on one solution before we realize it's the wrong direction. Looking ahead In the design industry, big incumbents have long been the standard, but with the advent of web technology, there are a huge number of design tools popping up every day. It's a booming space that's ripe for disruption. We're excited to be in the midst of all this change, and we can't wait to have new problems to solve, new things to build, and new experiences to learn from. The best part about growing is the opportunities to create solutions that haven't even been thought of yet. My final piece of advice would be to keep looking ahead, because that's where all the fun stuff happens. Enjoy this post? Denied College Applicant

Denied College Applicant April 7, 2013 Apparently Suzy Weiss will be attending the University of Michigan. At least she alluded as much on The Today Show. We figured wed post one last time about denied college applicant Suzy Weiss since our posts about Suzy are among the most popular on our blog of late. If youre not already aware of who Suzy Weiss is, Suzy wrote an editorial in The Wall Street Journal in which she bitterly complained about why she didnt get into Ivy League colleges. In her editorial which she tries so hard to make funny (albeit unsuccessfully), she includes sentences that we interpret as racist and homophobic. As one example, Suzy writes, I shouldve done what I knew was best   go to Africa, scoop up some suffering child, take a few pictures, and write my essays about how spending that afternoon with Kinto changed my life. Her cavalier attitude as she describes a suffering child in Africa is rather disgusting. And Kinto? We cant help but believe that she is making a mocking reference to Kunta Kinte, the brave man at the heart of the epic miniseries Roots captured in Africa and brought to America as a slave. And as fo r having two moms, Suzy, we take it that you know next to nothing about the history of the gay rights movement in this country. Because if you did, you likely wouldnt make jabs at the children of gay couples. What weve learned since we read Suzys awful editorial is that Suzy likely didnt get her piece in The Wall Street Journal all on her own, on her own merits. It seems that Suzys sister worked at The Wall Street Journal. According to her Wall Street Journal biography, Bari Weiss was an assistant editorial features editor at The Wall Street Journal. She was a Bartley Fellow in 2007. Born in Pittsburgh, she graduated with a degree in history from Columbia University in 2007. Shes previously written for Haaretz and the New York Sun. Uh huh. Seems to us like your sister had a hand in getting you in the paper. But we take it that youre against legacy admits? And athletes? And the children of development cases? And anyone who had a little help to get into the college of their dreams? If thats the case, Suzy, you probably should have gotten an editorial into The Wall Street Journal without your sisters help. We believe that the Ivy League schools to which Suzy applied were right to deny her admission. As she describes herself, she doesnt sound particularly talented. And who wants a student on campus who writes things that can be interpreted as racist and homophobic?
